Physio for falls and mobility problems
Our role is to assess and plan an individual treatment programme specific to our patients needs. Trossachs, Lomond & Clyde Physiotherapy is one of only a few therapists to offer specific care to older patients, with specialist Physiotherapists who are experienced in this area and can treat people in their own home or in their nursing or care homes.
The prime purpose of physiotherapy in this group is to prevent falls, advise on appropriate walking aids and assist with rehabilitation following a fall or hospital stay due to injury or illness. We aim to restore independence, increase confidence and promote normal movement and function. We also seek to prevent injury or illness by providing advice and gentle exercise.
Physio for Orthopaedic conditions
Orthopaedic Physiotherapy specialises in the treatment of
patients undergoing planned surgery (elective) or those who are
admitted to hospital due to a traumatic accident.
Who can benifit from this service?
Most orthopaedic patients can benefit from physiotherapy. We can assist in preparing patients prior to surgery and also with regaining movement and strength following elective and trauma surgery. We have considerable experience in the immediate post operative and longer term rehabilitation of orthopaedic patients of all ages.
Some examples of conditions we treat are, elective patients undergoing joint replacement surgery such as knee, hip, shoulder, elbow or ankle replacement. We are also very experienced in the rehabilitation of anterior cruciate ligament/posterior cruciate ligament reconstructions, knee/hip/elbow arthroscopy and spinal surgery. Traumatic conditions are varied but we most regularly encounter patients who have encountered a fractured neck of femur, upper and lower limb fractures, shoulder injuries and reconstructive surgeries, spinal injuries and many other soft tissue conditions.
